Chief Technical Officer

Teknika Corporation (TeknikaCorp.com)

Teknika was created by Steve, Frank, and I to fulfill a need for software development in the Panhandle of Florida. We wanted to create a blend of cheaper overseas development combined with America ownership and project management. This company was based out of Panama City with a sister office in Ukraine (Yup, Ukraine, certainly makes for some interesting experiences). My primary role was everything technical related to the company. I ran multiple teams of Developers, Designers, Quality Assurance, and Project Managers simultaneously throughout tenure at this company. Most teams consisted of 5-8 people depending on project size, this included 2-4 developers, 1-2 designers, 1-2 QA, with a single project manager with me as product owner. Throughout my tenure at this position I worked in every role mentioned above, though I found that I excelled at the project owner role, and as the teams got built out I settled into this role primarily, only falling into other roles only as needed. In this role I could own 2-4 projects (with each project having a separate team) at once, and assuming no major issues could simultaneously deliver those projects. At the peak of development I managed over 30 people under me making up 3-5 of these teams. During this time I also had extensive knowledge and execution on all on boarding processes in Teknika’s Portfolio. As we never got a sales team in place during my tenure, Frank and I where the sales team start to finish. We landed the contracts, and I drove it home by delivering on the technical side of things (Frank never got involved on the technical side unless there was hardware). There is no way that I could possibly list all the things I did during my tenure here, so please ask on anything here. I will not be listing projects in this resume, as that would be too long. Please see teknikacorp.com/portfolio/ for a list of projects I created. As of Oct 2024 all projects on this page are projects I created from scratch. Please ask about any of them.

Key Accomplishments:

  • I created processes and procedures needed to run development teams of 4-8 people effectively and efficiently. This was done through the intelligent use of Wiki websites and cloud based file services. I wrote thousands of pages of manuals and best practices ranging from roles and responsibilities (for all roles mentioned above) to best practices for committing code, pull requests, and basically everything else needed to run a software company. Honestly this list of manuals is huge.
  • I architected efficient processes for managing large scale endeavors during the life cycle of that project. This included procedures for handling project management (Using software), Frontend development, Backend Development, QA, Design, using an iterative scrum based approach to software development. This style of development kept customers directly involved in the development while ensuring that all money that was spent was tracked and demoed direct to the customer. This allowed a high level of transparency while still delivering high quality code at a fast rate of development.
  • I handled the full on boarding process for all projects at this company. My primary role during on boarding was to provide a technical presence during initial discovery periods while then delivering a full technical project proposal to customers that included a comprehensive estimate directly tied to technical user story’s split up into different epics. This could range from small estimates in the $20-40K range all the way up to half a million or more. This was all done while working closely with customers on nailing down exactly what they want. Using this process we managed to get are estimates to be accurate within 10-15% margin of the final project time and cost.
  • I architected and created multiple projects ranging in budgets from a $100k up to $1m with scopes taking a couple of months to 3+ years of development. This was all done using the above scrum based approach to software and using the estimates and proposals given to customers while working closely with them on scope creep.

Senior Cross-platform Application Architect

Bob-Alliance Inc (Freelance/Self Employed)

I created this company to deliver cross platform mobile applications to my local area. Since then it has evolved from a simple coffee and IT company to something much more. Everything freelance falls under this company for me moving forward. Below are some of the things I have created as CEO of this company.

Key Accomplishments:

  • I architected from the ground up a 30+ screen faith based social networking platform for web, Windows Phone, iOS and Android. This platform is called gfaith and delivers a safe and censorship free place to express beliefs as well as discuss topics of interest. This is done through a posting style activity feed, an events system, and discussion boards. Features include push notifications, geo-located posts/events, image/video support, like/thumbs up system, comments system, and full user profile support.
  • I created a customer facing Flooring Dealership App for the Happy Feet Brand. The purpose of this app is to not only provide direct information on flooring of different types, but also facilitate the sales process through use of the app on the sales floor. This was done through a creative and elegant design across both Android and iOS platforms that provided the user with relevant information on the flooring in question.
  • I did some work on a cross platform encryption based chat and video type application. I primarily maintained the iOS application through bug fixes and new features. This application allowed users to securely communicate through chat, images, files, video, and audio over the internet using a very high level encryption algorithm.
  • I architected a cross-platform Mobile Application for the Leon County Government to help facilitate better communication of emergency, utility, and general information to the county populous. This was done by using push notifications on iOS and Android to deliver up to date information to users in real time about current events in Leon County.
  • I created an iPad app for use in a Martial Arts Studio to track student progress and attendance. This included creating and deploying a backend to support time in and time out as well as classes being offered.

Senior Mobile Software Engineer

Data Software Services

I was team lead in a five-man development team where we Utilized a Mixture of Scrum and Agile development methodologies to Rebuild a Phone Gap Version of our CRM into a native Xamarin based cross-platform Mobile Application. As lead programmer I used my interpersonal skills to organize, motivate, and collaborate with four other associates to complete and deploy a 28+ page Android and iPhone application in less than 5 months. This application delivers a solid customer experience while reaching over 30,000 users/month.

Key Accomplishments:

  • I created an Xamarin Forms framework which can be used to rapidly develop and release applications using a module based architecture which utilized design patterns like MVVM, Inversion of Control via Dependency injection, Domain Driven Design, Services Layer Abstractions, and Data Binding. We Achieved over 97% code reuse in this project across iOS and Android all written with Visual Studio in C#.
  • Additionally For 6 months I maintained and fixed bugs in native code for 70+ iOS and Android applications used by 300 – 1000 users daily.

Chief Technical officer

Pivotal Data Technologies

Started this job as a small time freelance developer and quickly rose to become the right hand man of the CEO. During the course of my employment I developed and deployed a Scalable Mobile Application Platform in native iOS and partially in android. Completion of this project resulted in a mobile application platform for deploying fully functional applications in less than a month. Saving an estimated $315,000 for each application release.

Key Accomplishments:

  • I designed, developed, and deployed 4 location-based mobile applications.
  • These applications currently connect 1,000’s of users per month with minority owned businesses across the world with the help of geolocation.
  • I designed, implemented, and deployed a desktop based Database Management Tool using Eclipse and Java. This project’s completion resulted in a convenient, easy to use, and powerful database tool to help maintain the database and to efficiently fix database discrepancies.
